Mercury wins award for municipal affairs reporting

Magda picked up an Ontario Newspaper Award tonight for her coverage of city hall issues. She won for a selection of stories, including a feature about the big mysteries of 2007, a profile of Gloria Kovach, and a news story about the city pleading guilty to releasing odours from the wet plant. I'm sure there were a few more stories in the winning mix. Way to go, Magda.
Turns out Magda's winning mix was a little different from what I reported. She won for a story about compost technologies proposed for Guelph as well as a story about the new Highway 7. I did managed recall the big mysteries of 2007 correctly. Check out the links and enjoy a second read.

Congratulations Magda, a well deserved award.
