Well I found it funny that right after integrity commissioner's report, Councillor Hofland immediately wants the integrity to investigate the article from Saturday's paper about the 5 councillors and the FoI request. Motion seconded by Councillor Burcher passed 9-2, Councillor Laidlaw was not at the meeting (conveniently), councillors Bell and Kovach voting against the motion.

I was also amused that after the integrity commissioner spoke, the Mayor referred to the code of conduct, prior to the hiring of the commissioner, as "just a document". It's funny how the city now has an integrity commissioner, and suddenly the Mayor takes the code of conduct seriously. When councillor Laidlaw was caught mouthing a colourful word to another councillor on camera, the mayor chose not to do anything about it. It didn't have anything to do with councillor Laidlaw donating $600 to the Farbridge mayoral campaign. Having said this note how I mention councillor Laidlaw, the one who violates the code of conduct regularly, "conveniently" was absent from the meeting.

Yeah that was a strange one Thomas. I'll be looking into that a little more tomorrow (for Wed. paper)
