The June council planning meeting will be held next Tuesday instead of the usual Monday.
The meeting was delayed 24 hours to allow councillors attending the Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference this weekend time to get back from Saskatoon.
The council meeting looks to be a busy one, with the contentious Official Plan Amendment 48 and a commercial development on a long-vacant parcel at Gordon and Wellington streets both scheduled for council's decision.
Members of a new environmental advocacy organization will be in attendance to ask the decision on OPA 48 be delayed so some river-specific language in it can be beefed up. (A press release suggests there will be a rally in front of City Hall at 6 p.m. Monday. I'm guessing that rally will actually be held on Tuesday to coincide with the council meeting.)

And could any of this river-specific, last minute 'concern' be related to Jim Gordon's political ambitions? Just asking.
