You would think, with all of the City of Guelph's various committments/projects meant to slash carbon emissions in our community, that when Delta Management Group announced their 50 "Climate Change Champions" for 2014, someone or something from the Royal City would have made the list.
But nothing did.
Despite the cities of Waterloo, Markham and Hamilton receiving plaudits for their carbon reduction projects, and the City of Toronto garnering three, no project, business or individual from the City of Guelph can be found on the list.
We have stellar municipal waste diversion rates, a burgeoning green tech/manufacturing industry, and our very own solar-powered biodiesel fuel pump, but none of this merited a mention from the folks at Delta.
Better luck next year, Guelph.
