A lucky buyer from somewhere in Ontario is now the latest owner of a recently decommissioned 1998 Orion V low floor diesel bus, after the City of Guelph completed an auction for the vehicle Jan. 2.
The unknown-mileage vehicle was listed on GovDeals.com with a starting bid of $1,200 on Dec. 30. Three days later, bids pushed the final sale price to $2,050, plus a buyers fee $116, for a total of $2,165.
It weighs 18,500 lbs, has a diesel engine and a 5 speed transmission.
Alecia Humphrey from the City of Guelph said there are no other newly retired buses on offer at this time.
