I imagine the weather will play a huge role in how calm things will be at the University of Guelph homecoming football game Saturday.
It's often a very spirited affair. In fact, it was a too raucous affair in 2011 and that led to the Guelph Police Service and U of G game-planning so it wouldn't be caught be surprise by the revelry associated with future ones.
This year's game promises to be a huge affair too with all the extra seats at Alumni Stadium this year in connection with it also being the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 'home' venue.
We'll aim to connect with the Guelph Police Service about whether it's expecting extra, homecoming-related work over the weekend.
On a side note, I'm told there has been a run on t-shirts being sold on campus that have a word play on them that incorporates the name of the team U of G plays Saturday, McMaster University. The slogan is clever but a bit blue. Let's just say it's a statement urging people not be individuals who "bait" McMaster.
