First, an apology to Gloria Kovach: Sorry Gloria.
She had e-mailed the Mercury during its effort to obtain comment from rumoured possibles to replace ouster federal Tory candidate Brent Barr. The reporter to whom she sent it somehow overlooked the e-mail.
Second, we know she did because Kovach has called us today and told us that and it checks out. Oops. In fact, she's spoken with two Mercury reporters today working different stories.
Both ended up speaking with her about her break with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities. She asserts again her punting was politically motivated. So far, no word back from Team Stephane Dion or his comment-offering minions.
Kovach has also informed us of her later – unsuccessful – bid to be re-elected to the FCM board this spring. It's quite a story.
I'll have more on it soon. So will the dead-tree version of the Mercury.
Oh, and on whether Kovach is interested in going after Barr's vacated post: she's still mulling the matter.
Been following this in the paper and online... any word back from "Team Dion" yet?
